To help tackle the difficulty of finding treatments for retinal diseases, Iveric Bio has established the “Gene Therapy Inherited Retina Disease Scientific Advisory Committee” to help translate research findings into actionable, clinical solutions. The committee is comprised of a specialized group of experts, all of whom focus in a specific niche. The committee is centrally involved with the gene therapy and therapeutics programs, which have 5 products and 2 in the pipeline, respectively. It is the hope that the development of these treatments will at long last offer a viable treatment solution for macular degeneration, including Stargardt disease.
When Iveric Bio established its gene therapy advisory committee recently, the move signaled the opening of a second front in its mission to treat retinal diseases for which there are no treatments.
